Do you put the filters before or After the Water Softener?

Technically, the water softener can go either before or after the filters as long as it is put before the water enters the RV. I prefer to filter the water first before the water softener to keep the resin clean of sediment, taste and odor.   It is easier to clean calcification off a canister than it is to clean stuff out of the water softener resin.
