Water that is stained red often contains dissolved iron/rust which can lead to stained appliances
and dishes, as well as foul smelling water.
Water that is not stained red but has a foul, egg like odor most likely contains sulfur. Pure sulfur
is an odorless non-metal, but is a catalyst for bacteria that cause the foul odor/taste.
The methods to prevent the negative effects of these issues are similar. Use of a filter such as
our Metal Trap [P/N A1415 or A2012] will remove dissolved iron and sulfur from your water, as
well as other dissolved metals/certain non-metals.
